Event Summary

The 10th International Congress of the Asian Association of Hispanists (AAH) (X Congreso Asiático de Hispanistas) took place on June 25-26, 2021. Its theme was "500 Years of the Encounter between Asia and the Hispanic World: Building an Ecological Civilization".

According to the congress poster, Magellan reached the Philippine archipelago in 1521, opening a new chapter in the encounter between Asia and the Hispanic world. The congress looked back over those five hundred years and ahead to humanity's transition from industrial to ecological civilization.
